Scary Queues this Weekend? Here’s Our Plan to Beat Them

With Halloween hype and scare mazes reaching fever pitch, queue times are getting scary

Scary Queues this Weekend? Here’s Our Plan to Beat ThemParks

If yesterday’s queues at Thorpe Park are anything to go by, you might want to think carefully about where you’re heading.

Stealth was reportedly hitting a whopping 140-minute wait at times yesterday. That’s a serious chunk of your day spent standing in a queue rather than racking up those coaster credits!

Of course, if you’re all about the Fright Nights experience, desperate to tackle the scare mazes and soak up the Halloween atmosphere, Thorpe Park is the place to be. But what if you’re a Merlin Annual Pass holder who’s more interested in getting on the rides than spending two hours waiting for them?

Well, we’ve got an alternative plan.

We’re heading to Chessington World of Adventures!

Mandrill Mayhem has been sitting at around 10 minutes for much of the day this weekend, with the rest of the park looking pretty decent for queue times too. Dragons Fury which is typically a long queue when ever you visit Chessington isn’t too bad either. If your idea of a perfect Sunday is stacking up credits, getting plenty of rides in and keeping the waiting to a minimum, Chessington could be a very smart alternative.

Sure, you’ll be sacrificing some of the Fright Nights atmosphere, but when the choice is lapping Mandrill Mayhem after dark or spending two hours in the Stealth queue, we know which one we’re choosing!

And it’s not all about the coasters. Chessington has its own Halloween offering, with scare experiences to explore too, so Mimi will be checking out what’s on offer while we’re there.

So TPD Will be at Chessington today! If you spot us in the park, come over and say hi. We’re looking forward to a fun day, plenty of credits and, hopefully, some seriously short queues.
