Let’s be honest, Howloweens not quite on the same level as Scarefest or Fright Nights, but with shorter queues and some great theming, there’s plenty to enjoy without spending half the day waiting around.

One highlight is Stone Watchers, a free scare zone that’s surprisingly scary! With dark sections and actors getting right up in your face, there are some genuinely good scares, but it’s a laugh too. Be warned, though: it gets even scarier after 3pm, so younger visitors might find it a bit much!

For little ones, Enchanted Hollow offers a sweet-collecting adventure, while Haunted House Party and other family-friendly shows provide plenty of entertainment. Add in all the rides and Halloween decorations, and there’s something for everyone.

So, while Chessington might not be competing with the big two just yet, it’s well worth considering for a family Halloween day out. Perhaps it deserves a little more recognition after all!
