Great Coasters International crews have been spotted on site at Alton Towers weeks ahead of schedule, with scaffolding already climbing the first drop of Wickerman.
The 2018 wooden coaster is due for its biggest maintenance programme yet, and starting early suggests the work list is longer than the usual bolt-tightening exercise.
Expect the ride to be back to full health for the 2027 season opener. If it rides like opening year again, we'll take it.
