IMPORTANT UPDATE: Digital Dan has confirmed the RITA 100 will start on Monday 21st of September. A Monday mid-September? He must have read our article on Golden Time! At the time of writing, he was up to 120 laps pledged, so this looks like it will be a crazy multi-day event — wild times! How many laps do you think you could manage?
ORIGINAL ARTICLE:
Every Digital Dan fan has waited for the day he would finally announce a 'Rita all day' challenge after months of hints. In July, when it was announced, it was revealed it would actually be called 'Rita 100' — meaning Dan will head to Alton Towers Resort attempting to ride the Intamin accelerator coaster Rita at least 100 times. If he doesn't complete those laps in a day, he will have to come back…
He will ride that coaster more times than I probably will in my life! Personally, if I had to ride the worst coaster at Towers 100 times, I would be wreaking havoc at the ride op. And he's doing it all for the amazing Alzheimer's Society charity!
If you want to donate to the king of bad ideas riding the queen of speed and increase the number of laps he will do (he's currently at 120!!), hit the donate button below.
THOOSIES — if you had to pick any UK coaster to ride 100 times, what would you pick? I think I'd have to go with Runaway Mine Train, because hearing 'CHOO CHOO' as you leave the station would never get boring.
